A never-ending amazing rollercoaster ride. Sytac has been in the IT industry for already ten exhilarating years. The journey has been long, but we’re still all kids at heart and we’ve been enjoying every minute of it. Take a look at how far we’ve come, what we encountered along the way, and how much we look forward to the rest of it!

Our mission

While watching over the full-scale application development life cycle, we are guided by three solid core values that tell about our story, personality and mission.

First of all, it’s our goal to facilitate career growth and development opportunities for all of our people: after all, when you grow, we grow. We’re on top of innovations and new technologies so that our developers can always operate in a top-notch environment. But growing is more than just getting better at developing: we also encourage our people to grow their soft skills by training them in expressing themselves.

We also believe that great minds think alike, and we foster a culture of knowledge sharing to stimulate a constant flow of ideas. We do this because we’re convinced that you have to share your knowledge if you want to achieve great things. This is why we organize frequent sLabs and DevJams, which are learning events focused on gaining knowledge through the sharing of knowledge. This paves the path for the entire community to grow, and their ideas forward.

As we know that no good work can come from feeling stressed or burnt out, we also like to hang out and have fun! It’s our goal to have happy employees, which is why we, among other things, organize monthly ‘Nibbles & Drinks’, events, and ways to strengthen our bond. Even more, our employees are welcome to join us at bigger events, from BBQ’s on the beach to ski-trips and game nights.

Sytac is founded!

Sytac is founded!

Our story first started in Hoofddorp, where our first office was. In June 2010, with only two employees and a couple phones, we set our first baby steps into the world by hiring four consultants.

The first big gig

After that, it was only after a few months that events shifted to high gear and we won our first big contract. Since August 2010, Sytac has been the preferred Java supplier for KLM, giving our business an enormous boost.

Moving towards bigger things

Because of these early achievements, we already outgrew our first office within a couple of months. In October 2010, our office moved to the city: just like that, Amsterdam was going to be our next home base.

Within the following two years, things kept going through the roof. We created powerful bonds with both clients and developers, which led us to set the one hundred consultants milestone in October 2012.

With the expansion of our team of consultants came the growth of our backoffice. An account manager, a recruiter and an office manager joined our team and in no time, our second office wasn’t big enough anymore. This led to our move to Haarlem, in January 2013.

Two years later, in January 2015, our focus switched from working with freelance consultants to actually hiring our own employees. This way, we were able to provide our clients with faster service and guarantee quality.

THE FIRST DEVJAM

Now that the Sytac family grew to include more and more consultants, our community became stronger and more united than ever. With so many brilliant minds to share their ideas, we organized our first of many DevJams in May 2015. With many people enjoying inspiring and enriching presentations sided with a generous dose of pizza and beers, it’s no wonder that DevJam became a sensation and an active part of our identity.

SYTAC IN THE SNOW

We strive to keep our community both professionally and socially active. In January 2016, we organised our first ski-trip, an opportunity to relax and celebrate our ongoing success. For four days, over thirty people enjoyed hitting the slopes on the Austrian snow: it was such a big success that we decided to make it a yearly event!

ING has been a partner since 2013, and in March 2018 we became a preferred supplier. Many of our consultants enjoy building complex software applications for this leading name in the banking industry, whether their weapon of choice is Java, JavaScript or Data Engineering.
